Watching Out for Your Watchlist

We auction off a lot of products every day here on QuiBids, so we built the Watchlist as a useful tool to help you keep track of them. Here’s how it works.

When you’re browsing through the auctions for our brand-new, name-brand products, you can stop and hover the cursor over an auction’s title. This will create a dropdown menu with icons and the option “+ Watchlist”. Simply click this option to add the auction. There’s no limit on the number of auctions your Watchlist can hold at one time, so add away!

The auction page is another place you can go to add an auction to your Watchlist. If an auction is a few hours away from starting, you’ll be able to select “+ Watchlist” right above the product image.

Where do these auctions go once you’ve added them?
Once added to your Watchlist, you can view an auction over at My QuiBids. Simply click on “Watchlist” under the My QuiBids tab, and you’ll be able to quickly scan through all the auctions you’ve added, even if they ended recently. You can also look at Watchlisted items on your QBar, which follows you around at the bottom of the page, no matter where you go on the site.

What are the benefits of using the QuiBids Watchlist?

1. It’s unlimited. You can track all the upcoming auctions that you want.

2. You can incorporate it into your bidding strategy. The Watchlist allows you to keep a record of an unlimited number of auctions for as many different items (or as many of the same items) as you like. Track how a particular item is doing across auctions for long enough and you can get a good idea of how much it will sell for in a future auction.

3. Save your time! Keeping an eye on your Watchlist is an easy, quick way to check on an auction’s status. If too many people are bidding on it then just ditch it for the next auction!

I have marked many auctions for my watchlist - some starting in 20 or 30 minutes from now. When I go to my watchlist they aren't there, but there are several items I did not put on my list. Is the amount of time until the auction a factor in whether it makes it onto my watchlist?

jpayne5@QuiBids Says:

It sounds like what is showing in your watchlist is other items from the same auction. If you view that auction and 'Browse 100+ Items' you should find the item you were interested in for that auction.

I watched the bertha golf club then switch to watch the round automatic floor cleaner... back and forth.. they have the same bidders at the same bidding price.. ?? fishy.

jpayne5@QuiBids Says:

Not fishy at all! What you may be observing is what we call You-Choose it Auctions. This means that you can bid on many different items and once the auction is won, you can select the specific item that you wish to purchase. You can read more about You-Choose it auctions here: http://blog.quibids.com/you-choose-it-auctions-more-products-more-wins/

everything I click just gives me more reading. I want the merchandise to bid on. How do I get to that part of it??? I signed in already.

jpayne5@QuiBids Says:

You can find our auctions by clicking the Browse tab at the top of the page.

What does it mean when an auction is "locked"? Someone is still bidding, who?

jpayne5@QuiBids Says:

After a certain point, auctions will become locked and only bidders who have been participating will be able to continue placing bids, while all other bidders will be “locked out.” You can read more about Locked Auctions here: http://blog.quibids.com/locked-auctions-winning-just-got-easier/

How do I clear the old expired auctions off my Watchlist?

jpayne5@QuiBids Says:

Just click where it says Watchlist under the item and that will remove that one for you.

I have noticed that a lot of items on my watch list are not Items I selected for my watch list (for example, I am continually getting toy electric cars. I'm 53 years old, and all my kids are grown). Also, many items I do select (like the 'Neatreceipts' and the lazy susan) never show up on my watch list. What gives? barne36655

What you may be observing is what we call You-Choose it Auctions. This means that you can bid on many different items and once the auction is won, you can select the specific item that you wish to purchase. Here is how it works: If you navigate back to the auction page, you will see a small link towards the top of that page that says "You Choose It: Update Selection." If you click on that link the system will present you with a list of items for you to choose from. Once you decided for the item you desire, the auction page will reflect that choice.

how do i remove an item from 'watchlist' that was not meant to b bid on or have changed mind ?

jpayne5@QuiBids Says:

If you hover over the auction, you will be able to select "Watchlist" again and this will remove that auction from your list. You can also go to the My QuiBids tab and remove things from the Watchlist in that section.
