Where do I go to submit a review?

First, find the product page for the particular product you want to review. From there, scroll down to the “Reviews” tab.” See where it says “Manage My Reviews” on the left-side toolbar? Under that, click “Submit Review” and get to writing! You may also comment on other customers’ reviews or click the “Like” button. Remember you can only submit one review per product.

What goes into a good review?

To write a good review, we recommend spending some time with your product.  Get acquainted with it and use it as long as it takes to learn what its pros and cons are, how it suits your lifestyle, and how it measures up to your expectations.

Also, please keep in mind that reviews that make mention of anything other than the actual product will not be approved for display. In other words, write a review of the product itself, not a story about the auction you won, or what you paid in shipping and handling, or how nice a QuiBids Customer Support representative was to you on the phone. Reviews should be about products exclusively.

Why doesn't my review or comment display immediately?

In order to ensure that the reviews are useful for QuiBids’ customers and not obscene or obnoxious, all reviews will follow an approval channel before being posted. We will not approve reviews with foul language, promotional content, personal information, or any content deemed inappropriate for QuiBids customers. You can read a full list of rules concerning QuiBids reviews here.

What kind of bids are included when I buy a product from the QuiBids Store?

They’re Voucher Bids. Unlike Real Bids, Voucher Bids don’t count toward a discount on a QuiBids product purchased using Buy Now. Only Real Bids —which are purchased directly from QuiBids— will count toward a Buy Now.

How does this Game start?

Treasure Cove opens on the deck of a pirate ship navigating the high seas in search of riches. Here, you’ll select between a satchel, barrel, and hat in search of keys that will unlock treasure chests scattered on a nearby shore.

What do I do if I reach the cannon scene?

Arrrgh, matey — congratulations! Not all pirates venture into such deep waters. If you do find yourself brandishing cannons, then merely select the ship you wish to sink by dragging your crosshair to it. And then…kablooey! It’s lights-out for those scallywags, and you get to see your winning haul before returning to the treasure chests.

How do I win at Deal Wheel?

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good, and Deal Wheel is one of those times. If you’re lucky, you might earn yourself a bunch of bids or bonus spins. Or you might go bankrupt and lose them all. It’s all up to chance, but know that the numbers are in your favor, as the average user wins about as many Voucher Bids as any other one of our Games.

How does Big Game Fishing work?

Choose one of three tackle boxes on the home screen, each containing a certain amount of bait. From there, you’ll choose one of three locations to cast off. Now all that’s left is to drop your line in the water and haul in your Voucher Bids!

What’s the best strategy for playing Word Scramble?

Word Scramble requires much more finesse than any of our previous QuiBids Games, so the best strategy is to play short words and aim for the multipliers. You’ve only got 30 seconds for each turn, so it’s usually better to play a short word (and create better chances at forming words on ensuing turns) than to simply let the time run out. Play with the multiplier tiles in mind, aiming for the triple-word tiles (that say TW) in the corners — they’re worth the big money.

How does Word Scramble end?

Either when you run completely out of time or play all of your letter tiles.

I've won an auction! What do I do now?

Woot woot! Congrats on winning yourself a QuiBids auction.

First (obviously) you've got to pay for the auction's ending price. You may do this by clicking "Proceed to Checkout" at the top of the auction page, or by going to My QuiBids and selecting Claim Now under "Ready To Claim". Have your shipping and payment information ready, because you'll enter it during the checkout process. We'll send you an email confirming your purchase, and another one each time your item's shipping status is updated.

You must pay for your auction win within 3 days of the auction ending. If you don't pay for your auction within this time frame, we'll assume you no longer want the item. Please contact Customer Support if you have any questions!

How do I redeem coupons?

Occasionally, QuiBids will give away coupons to make things even cheaper for you! To redeem these coupons, go to My QuiBids and click on "Redeem Coupon." Enter your Coupon Code and your Voucher Bids will be applied immediately. These bids typically have an expiration of 7 days.

When does an auction end?

Each auction ends when the timer reaches zero on QuiBids' servers.

Why is time added to the auction clock?

Time is added to the clock whenever a bid is placed. This allows someone else the chance to bid if they want to. It's a lot like the "Going once, Going twice, SOLD!" approach of traditional auctions. The amount of time added to the auction timer depends on the particular auction, and varies between 10, 15, or 20 seconds.

When/how do I choose my product?

The way QuiBids’ auction format works (with the exception of auctions for Voucher Bids and Limit Busters), customers don’t have to finalize what product they’re actually bidding on until after they win the auction or choose to Buy Now. A single auction may have over 100 different products to choose from, so be sure to browse all the choices before finalizing your desired item at checkout.

Just select what you want to bid on from the Product Panel and that item will appear on the main auction page. Don’t forget that there are more products to choose from than the six listed on the auction page. Click “Browse Product Choices” to see them all.

Since you finalize the product at checkout anyway, you can switch the item in the product window out as often as you like. It’s all part of the same auction.

Auction Limits

QuiBids allows 12 wins in a 28-day period and 12 wins per 24-hour time period. In addition, you may only be winning 5 normal auctions and 1 beginner auction at a time.

Additional auction limits include:

  1. You can only win one of the exact same item greater than $285 in value during a 28 day period.
  2. You can only win one of any item equal to or greater than $1,000 in a 28 day period.
  3. Voucher Bids only apply toward a user's daily 12 win limit. Voucher Bids do not apply to a user’s 28-day win limit.
  4. A user may only win one 250 Voucher Bid auction and two 100 Voucher Bid auctions every 24 hours. Additionally, a user may only win one 500 Voucher Bid auction and one 1000 Voucher Bid auction every 7 days.

For example, if you win an iPad Air 16GB valued at $499, you will be locked out of all future auctions for that same specific model of iPad for the following 28 days because it is over $285. Items purchased with the Buy Now feature do not count toward a user’s auction limit.

We implement auction limits to give everyone the best chance possible to win items you want.  We want everyone at QuiBids to save BIG and have fun!

How can I watch an auction?

If you see an auction you want to watch, you can click "+ Watchlist," which is found in the upper left corner of the auction page above the product picture. You can view all of the items on your watchlist in My QuiBids and in the QBar.

Want to learn more about your Watchlist?  Check out these articles:

What's the difference between the auction ending price and the value price?

Auction End price
The auction end price is the price of the auction item when the timer reaches zero. The winner will purchase the auction item for that price.

Value price
The value price is the suggested retail price. If you decide to use the Buy Now feature, the value of the Real Bids you used in that particular auction will be applied to the value price.

Can I rearrange auctions?

Yes! It's as simple as a click and a drag!

Simply click and hold the auction box and you can drag it to rearrange auctions on the page. Organize the auction by level of interest, type of product, or anything else you can think of!

And It's not limited to the home page. You can rearrange wherever you see a list of auctions: like your Watchlist, or a category page.

What are locked auctions?

Locked Auctions are a QuiBids feature that decreases competition in auctions and allows bidders to win more easily. After a certain number of bids are placed, auctions will become locked and only bidders who have been actively participating will be able to continue placing bids, while all other bidders will be “locked out.” If you're locked out of an auction, you'll know by the locked padlock symbol. If you are able to bid in a Locked Auction, you'll see the unlocked padlock symbol. This feature applies to all QuiBids auctions.

What causes auctions to lock?

After an auction price hits a certain level, auctions will lock so bidders cannot jump in at the last second.

How do I avoid getting locked out of an auction?

Locked Auctions will lock out bidders that have not bid for a while or haven't invested much in the auction. To avoid being locked out, maintain consistent participation in auctions because the amount of time since your last bid plays a role. For more information on how to avoid geting locked out of an auction, check out this comprehensive blog on Locked Auctions. http://blog.quibids.com/locked-auctions-winning-just-got-easier/

How do I change my password?

You can change your password by going to My QuiBids and selecting "Change Password" under My Account or by clicking here

I forgot my password or username. What can I do?

Select "Forgot Password?" in the login area on the home page. Once you click Reset Password, an email containing your username will be sent to you. This email will also have a link that will enable you to reset your password.

How do I change my email preferences?

On the My QuiBids page, select My Information under the My Account tab. On this page, you will be able to edit all email preferences. You can also do this by clicking here

How do I change my username?

Unfortunately, your username cannot be changed. When registering, please avoid choosing a username that could offend other users as your username will be visible to other users. If you notice a username that is offensive, please contact Customer Support and we will work on changing it.

How do I change my address or add a new one?

Shipping and billing information can only be added or edited during a checkout. When you make your next purchase, you will have the ability to update this information.

Where can I check my Bid Credit History?

Go to My QuiBids and click Bid Credit History. Here, you'll find a breakdown of the date and time bids were added, expiration, bid type, and the number of bids.

Can I change my email address?

Yep! It’s really easy, too. Select the My Account tab under My QuiBids, and you’ll be able to update it there. Or simply by clicking here.

What's an avatar?

An avatar is an image that's used to represent a user account. We have plenty of fun icons you can choose from! Pick your own by going to My QuiBids, where you'll see your current avatar. Click the "Change" link below your current avatar to pick a new one. Choose the image you like best and it will automatically be updated!

Can I change my registered name?

Of course! Please contact Customer Support if your name has changed. We will be glad to help you out.

How can I see the auctions I've won?

Go to My QuiBids and select Won Auctions, or click here.

Are multiple accounts allowed within the same household?

QuiBids does allow users who share a household (e.g. a husband and wife, roommates, etc.) to create one account per person within the same household. However, customer accounts that QuiBids deems related are prevented and/or prohibited from participating in the same auction at the same time, regardless of whether or not they are in direct communication with each other. QuiBids takes collusion very seriously as it is harmful to the customer experience; it is continuously monitored and not tolerated.

QuiBids defines collusion as two or more user accounts working together in an auction. Failure to comply with these policies can result in disabled accounts and canceled orders.

How does bidding work?

You have two options when it comes to bidding. The first is to simply click the 'Bid' button. Assuming there is no technical malfunction, your bid will be recorded and your username will be shown as the highest bidder.  To maintain the highest bid, you will need to keep clicking the ‘Bid’ button whenever another user outbids you.

The second option is to use the Bid-O-Matic feature. We developed Bid-O-Matic to enable you to participate in an auction while you are away from the computer. Bid-O-Matic will enter bids for you based on limits that you set— how many bids you’re willing to spend and when to start placing them.

How to Buy Bids

After registering, you can click "Buy Bids" in the top menu. A bid is $0.40, and comes in Bid Packs. Select the Bid Pack that's right for you and follow the on-screen instructions to finalize your purchase. QuiBids accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal.

Now you're ready to start bidding in our many auctions!

What are Real Bids?

Real Bids are bids purchased in Bid Packs from the Buy Bids page or from the Quick Buy feature in the QBar. These bids can be used toward the Buy Now option, and are eligible for a refund as long as they haven't been used in an auction.

What are Voucher Bids?

Voucher Bids are bids that are won or acquired through Voucher Bid auctions. Voucher Bids can also be credited in other ways, such as after claiming badges, referring friends, or other promotions and special circumstances. These bids cannot be used toward the Buy Now option, nor are they eligible for a refund. Voucher Bids will not count toward your 28-day win limit. A user may only win one 250 Voucher Bid auction and two 100 Voucher Bid auctions every 24 hours. Additionally, a user may only win one 500 Voucher Bid auction and one 1000 Voucher Bid auction every 7 days.

Voucher Bids do expire. Each type of Voucher Bid has a different expiration date. Go to My QuiBids and click on Bid Credit History. You will find information such as the date and time the bids went into your account, a description, an expiration date, bid type, and the number of bids. The bids are denoted by two numbers (xx/xxx). The first number is the number of bids you have left, and the last number is the number of bids you originally purchased.

Do my Real Bids expire?

Yes, Real Bids expire in 3 years. After the first year, the bids will become Voucher bids and lose their ability to be applied toward our Buy Now option. To see when your bids expire, go to My QuiBids and click on Bid Credit History. You will find information such as the date and time the bids were put into your account, an expiration date, bid type, and the number of bids credited.

Where can I see my bidding history?

Click on My QuiBids and then go to Bidding History. This area will display information on recent auctions you have placed bids in.

Can I select which bid type to use during an auction?

Yes, on the QBar in the "My Bids" section you can select which type of bids that you want to use first in an auction. Real bids will be the default bid type used if you have both types of bids available in your account.

What are those icons that appear on my auction?

You might have noticed icons that appear on our auction pages. They’re there to indicate one or more of the auction’s special features. These icons can also be found by hovering your cursor over the title of an auction.

For information on each icon and what it means, hover your cursor over the icon and a brief explanation of that particular auction feature will appear.

I've placed a bid but I'm not currently the highest bidder, why?

QuiBids' servers order the bids based on the exact time they were clicked. There may have been other users who placed a bid immediately after you.

Where can I see how many bids I have spent in an auction?

You can view your Bids Credit under the value price that’s listed on the auction page. Your Bids Credit indicates the amount of money that would be discounted from the value price if you choose to Buy Now. Beneath that, you can see how many Real Bids and Voucher Bids you placed in that specific auction. Voucher Bids are not factored into your Bids Credit because they do not apply toward the Buy Now.

How do I track auctions that I'm participating in?

On the My QuiBids main page, you will see a section that displays all the auctions you've recently participated in.

Can I bid on a future auction?

You can bid on any auction with 5 minutes or less time remaining.

Can I bid in auctions that don’t allow the Bid-O-Matic feature?

Really like the Bid-O-Matic feature? Or maybe you’re not a big fan? It’s fine either way because you can narrow your searches to show auctions that don't allow the Bid-O-Matic feature.

Simply use the Filter By option on the home page and select "No Bid-O-Matic" to indicate that you only want to bid in auctions without the Bid-O-Matic feature!

Where's my order?

Delivery times vary for each item that we auction. Most of our items are shipped within two days of paying for the auction item. We’ll let you know as soon as your item has been processed and shipped. Although we don't guarantee a shipping date, most items arrive within 7 days. Please check your email for any notifications.

If you haven’t received your product after 14 business days, please contact Customer Support

How do I track my shipments?

You’ve got several options when it comes to finding your item’s tracking information. Foremost is email: We’ll always email you the necessary information about your item’s shipment, including confirmation, processing, actual time of shipment, and the item’s order status. You’ll receive these updates at whatever email you registered with your QuiBids account.

You can also view tracking information at your Order History, in My QuiBids. There, you can use the search bar to look up a keyword or order number, or sort through your orders using the dropdown menu. When you find the specific order you’re looking for, click View Details. If tracking information is available on this item, then you’ll be able to view it right there on the page. If you require further assistance tracking your order, our Customer Support team is always close by to help!

And lastly, if it’s been a while and you haven’t received an email update, we recommend you check your Spam folder, as emails can get stuck there. We also recommend that you do this before calling in to Customer Support because there’s nothing more facepalm-worthy than calling in to Support about an email that just got filed in the wrong folder. We’ve been there, too.

Return Policy

QuiBids allows returns for most merchandise within 30 days of the date delivered according to tracking information. If no tracking number was assigned to the shipment, the policy is within 35 days of the date the item was shipped.

QuiBids’ Return Policy covers the following types of return situations:

- Return for Refund- Eligible merchandise can be returned for a refund on QuiBids.

NoteOnly the transaction price paid during checkout will be refunded. Bids placed in auctions will not be refunded.

- Exchange- Eligible merchandise is exchanged for a different variation (i.e. customer desires different size or color of the same product.)

- Replacement- Eligible merchandise is returned and replaced with the same exact merchandise (i.e. the item was received damaged, defective, or incorrect).

Please contact Customer Support to initiate a return.

Fees:

Returns resulting in QuiBids’ error will NOT incur a fee. For returns that are not a result of QuiBids’ error, a fee will apply as defined below.

The maximum refund will not exceed the total amount paid for the merchandise.

Refunds:

Refunds are applied to the original payment method. Please allow up to 10 days after the receipt of returned merchandise to receive the refund.

Unavailable Replacements/Exchanges:

In the rare event that QuiBids is unable to fulfill an order, QuiBids will offer a product replacement for an alternative but comparable item, as determined by QuiBids' sole discretion. If a product replacement option is unacceptable, you may choose to accept a re-credit of bids spent in the auction and a refund of your transaction price. In addition, if a discount was earned on the order (i.e. won an auction for a discount), QuiBids will reimburse this amount in the form of Voucher Bids.

Defective:

An item that is discovered to be defective is eligible for a refund/replacement.

Damaged:

All packages are inspected for damage before they ship. Items damaged in transit must be reported immediately.  QuiBids must be informed of all shipping-related claims within 2 business day of the date of receipt.

Return Shipping:

You will be responsible for any return shipping costs. However, if the merchandise is defective, damaged, or the result of QuiBids’ error, QuiBids will pay the cost of return shipping (excluding box or packaging material) in the form of Real Bids (however, these bids will not be able to be refunded for cash).

Limitations on Returns:

Items are no longer eligible for a return after 30 days of delivery date.  QuiBids may refuse investigation of issues initiated after 60 days of the delivery date.

Product Condition:

Returned merchandise must be in new or unused original condition and include all factory-packed accessories and paperwork (e.g. battery, charger, cords, straps, unmarked warranty card, manuals, etc.). The merchandise must be in the original manufacturer box and packaging with UPC, barcode, and serial number intact. Incomplete returns will not be accepted.

Removal or alteration of a product's UPC number or serial number label will automatically void any possibility of return for credit or replacement. Products that are returned with a missing or altered UPC or serial number will be returned to the sender. The product serial number must match the serial number in our records.

Returned merchandise that is lost or damaged during transit is solely the customer’s responsibility. Please save all tracking information and receipts for returned merchandise.

Exceptions:

Although we have a very flexible return policy on most of the items we sell, there are some exceptions. The following items may not be returned:

  • Gift cards
  • Consumables, including but not limited to recordable media, film, digital memory cards, tapes, batteries, paper, and ink
  • Intangible goods such as Voucher Bids, Limit Busters, etc.
  • BBQ grills
  • Some TVs

International Shipping

QuiBids doesn't currently offer international shipping options at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.

What are the shipping rates?

QuiBids offers free shipping on all products shipped in the US. We currently do not offer international shipping options.

Certain products may not qualify for free shipping, but the rates will always be noted on their product page, auction page, and throughout the checkout process.

Are items ever substituted?

On rare occasions, we will not be able to ship the specific item detailed in the auction. If this happens, QuiBids will contact you and offer a replacement item of comparable specifications and value (as determined by QuiBids' sole discretion) or a full refund of the transaction price (including the auction end price and shipping costs, if any). The number of bids you used in the auction will be credited to your account. These situations are rare and we will always do our best to keep you happy.

What's a pending transaction?

Fear not, Valued QuiBids Customer! If you're worried that you've been charged double, the first thing you should do is consider if the extra charge on your online credit card statement could be a pending transaction.

A pending transaction, or authorization hold, is a standard banking industry practice of authorizing electronic transactions made with a debit card or credit card. The card's balance will be unavailable either until the merchant clears the transaction (also called settlement), or until the hold "clears off."

This process only gives the appearance of a duplicate transaction. If you recently completed your purchase, it's very likely that the double charge is a pending transaction. Pending transactions will be cancelled by your bank in a few days, and only the original charge will remain.

If you would like more information about pending transactions, please contact your bank or credit card company for the most accurate information pertaining to your statement. If the charge has not cleared after a few days, please contact Customer Support.

What are Limit Busters?

Limit Buster auctions are won or purchased via Buy Now and automatically deduct the specified number of wins from your 28-day auction win limits. This enables you to participate in more auctions. Limit Busters won't cancel out products you've paid for, they simply open up additional spots for more wins. When a limit buster is purchased, it will remove the most recently won items from your 28-day win limits. You can review your Auction Limits page directly through the My QuiBids section or by clicking here. There are three types of Limit Busters:

Bust One - Clear one win out of your account in order to participate in another auction!

Bust Two - Clear two wins out of your account in order to participate in more auctions!

Bust Four - Clear four wins from your account in order to participate in more auctions!

Limit Busters won't affect the following site rules:

  • Only 1 win allowed per 28 days on items with a value price equal to or greater than $1000.
  • Only 1 win of the same product with a value price greater than $285 allowed over a 28-day period
  • The daily win limit of 12 auctions includes Limit Busters and Voucher Bids
  • A user may only win one 250 Voucher Bid auction and two 100 Voucher Bid auctions every 24 hours. Additionally, a user may only win one 500 Voucher Bid auction and one 1000 Voucher Bid auction every 7 days.

I need to return a product I purchased from QuiBids Store. What happens to the bids I received?

We’re sorry the product did not work out for you, and we are happy to accept your return as long as it accords with our standard return policy. Additionally, in the case of a Store purchase, you will have to return the Voucher Bids that were included with the product. If it’s the case that you’ve already placed these bids in an auction then we will deduct their value (each bid is worth sixty cents) from the amount of money refunded.

For instance, let’s say you purchased a product for $100 at the Store and received ten Voucher Bids for doing so. You subsequently spend those ten Voucher Bids on an auction, leaving your account without any Voucher Bids. If you were to decide to return the $100 product you received, you will receive a $94 refund, to account for the six-dollar value of those ten Voucher Bids.

What's the QBar?

The QBar is located at the bottom of your screen whenever you're logged in. It features five key components: User Profile View, My QuiBids, My Bids, Watchlist and Notifications.

The QBar was developed for your convenience and to keep you informed about your QuiBids account. You can do almost everything in one place!

QBar- What's the QuickBuy?

The QuickBuy feature located on the QBar allows you to buy bids directly from the auction page!  If your credit card information is saved, then you can purchase bids through the QBar at any time! You can buy as many as 500 bids at a time (in 25 bid increments) by sliding the bid bar over to the amount of bids you wish to purchase.

QBar- What payment methods can I use with the QuickBuy feature?

The only payment methods available for QuickBuy are the options saved within your billing information under My QuiBids. You cannot add new payment information to the QuickBuy directly.

QBar- How do I minimize the QBar?

You can minimize the QBar by clicking on the QBar logo that is located on the far left side. If you want to open the QBar after minimizing, simply click on the QBar logo again.

QuiBids Promotions

From time to time, QuiBids may offer promotions through various different channels at QuiBids’ sole discretion. Some of these channels include phone, e-mail, chat, and social media platforms. At times, not all QuiBids customers may qualify for a specific promotion as determined by QuiBids. In order to qualify for a promotion, a customer will be notified directly by QuiBids, and the criteria and requirements may not be disclosed. In order to claim and receive a promotional reward, all requirements and instructions must be met within the appropriate time frame, if applicable. Promotions may require a Starter Bid Pack purchase.

What if I received something different from the image on the auction page?

This may happen from time to time depending on several factors. We encourage you to read the product description for the most accurate information regarding the displayed item. The picture displayed may be a suggested representation of the item picturing accessories not actually included with the listed item. If you do receive an item different than the description, you can contact our customer support team to return the item according to our Return Policy.

What's the danger of fake, 'Phishing' or 'Spoofing' emails?

"Phishing" or "Spoofing" emails are illegal attempts to obtain confidential information such as passwords or credit card details. Please contact us if you're asked in an email or phone call for such confidential data.

Security notice: Don't give out your password via email or phone!

QuiBids will never request your password via emails or by the phone. If you do receive an email message or phone call regarding your password, please report the incident to Customer Support, as it is likely an attempt by an outside party to breach your security.

I've received an email that seems suspicious. What should I do?

First and foremost, never click on a link or download anything from an email you're suspicious of. These actions may enable outside parties to illegally obtain your private information.

Second, please forward these emails to support@quibids.com. We'll check them out and inform you whether or not they're legitimate.

How do I recognize a fake email about a request for payment?

Payments to QuiBids can only be made via the QuiBids website, www.quibids.com. Please don't respond to any emails or phone calls regarding payments.

Payment method security

Any transactions conducted through our website are secure. Only you see your card details, so it's actually much more secure than using your card in a store.

When you reach the checkout, you'll notice a padlock symbol on your browser bar. Also, the URL will begin with 'HTTPS' instead of 'HTTP'. Both indicate that this is a secure page.

Payment transactions with QuiBids are always conducted on secure encrypted connection. This SSL connection is verified by VeriSign and provides the highest level of confidence for all transactions on QuiBids.

Why hasn't my bid registered on an auction?

Sometimes users report placing a bid that was not recognized by the auction in time to prevent the auction from ending. This is usually caused by internet lag times or data transfer delays between your PC and our servers.

Lag time most commonly occurs when certain parts of the connection are overloaded. This also might occur if you are using a slow Internet connection, or if the connection has been lost.

We're very sorry that the QuiBids servers did not register your bid in time. Please read the tips below to help understand and minimize this problem:

  • While bidding, do not simultaneously download or upload large amounts of data (video, audio, software, or other large files) on the Internet. This includes sending or receiving large email attachments.
  • Make sure there aren't too many people accessing your connection to the internet (i.e. sharing a Wi-Fi network)
  • Don’t wait until the last second to place a bid. Remember that time will be added to the clock for any last-second bids.
  • Use the Bid-O-Matic function.

What happens if there’s downtime or an auction pauses?

Downtime is an unforeseeable setback that all online retail companies experience. During such times, users will not be able to place bids in an auction.

After the issue is resolved, we’ll reset any time lost to each affected auction clock so that no users will be left at a disadvantage. Any auctions that ended because of the downtime will be refunded, and nobody will be awarded the item.

How does QuiBids work?

Bids cost just $0.40 and can be purchased in bid packs at the Bid Store or in the QBar. These bids are pre-paid and stored in the Bid Credit History section of My QuiBids. Each time you place a bid; it will be deducted from your remaining bids, and will increase the price of the auction by one cent. . No more than 20 seconds is added to the timer whenever a bid is placed. This allows another user the opportunity to bid if interested. It's just like the auctioneer shouting “Going once...Going twice...SOLD!” at a traditional auction.

And also just like a traditional auction, you win by being the last to bid. Once you pay the final auction price and shipping costs, the item is yours!

Here's the part that isn't like a traditional auction: If you don't win, you can't reclaim the bids you place. BUT, because we never want anyone to walk away with nothing, we offer a Buy Now feature on ALL of our auctions! When you use our Buy Now feature, we subtract the cash value of the bids you’ve placed (excluding voucher bids) from the value price of the item, and you pay the difference. It's just like buying the item at retail price! So at least you had a chance at getting it at a discount, eh?

Let's say you spend 30 bids trying to win a $30 valued product, but you don't win. Your 30 bids are worth $12 (30 x $0.40), so if you choose to use the Buy Now, you will only pay $18 more for the product. Please note that this offer applies to real bids only, and that voucher bids to do not apply to the Buy Now option.

It’s also important to note that (except for Voucher Bid and Limit Buster auctions) QuiBids auctions aren’t limited to single items. A QuiBids auction allows customers to pick from a list of comparably priced products, which you may finalize at checkout. Be sure to shop the complete list of available products for the one that’s just right for you.

What is Buy Now?

With Buy Now, you can purchase any product at any time during the auction and up to 2 hours after the auction is over by clicking the Buy Now button on the auction page. The value of any Real Bids* placed in an auction will be applied to the value price*. Voucher Bids used in an auction will not count toward the Buy Now price. Buy Now purchases don't count toward your daily or 28-day win limit. Because there's no limit to the Buy Now feature, the auction will continue even if a user chooses to Buy Now.

You must bid at least once in an auction in order to use the Buy Now option. The Buy Now price will never fall below $0.00 because QuiBids prevents users from spending more in Real Bids than the item's value price. For example, you can't place $110 worth of Real Bids in an auction for an item with a $100 value price. On QuiBids, you will never pay more than the value price for a product you want. If a user chooses to Buy Now, they can pick from any of QuiBids' amazing products that are available in that particular auction.

Below is an example of how your discount for Buy Now is calculated.

Value Price:                                                                    $100.00
Discount: Real Bids Placed x Bid Price:  100 x $0.40 =      $40.00
Buy Now Price: + Shipping/Taxes (if applicable)          $60.00

The Buy Now price will be updated every time you place a bid

*Real Bids are bids that were purchased in a Bid Pack.
*The value price is the suggested retail price for that item.

What's the best way to win an auction?

Everyone wants to know how to improve their chances of winning an auction on QuiBids. There isn't a guaranteed winning strategy, but we'll offer you a few tips to help get you started:

Place your bid within the last 15 seconds
By placing a bid in the last few seconds, you know the time will reset and you'll become the highest bidder. If someone else bids, time will be added and you'll get another chance to bid.

Bid on the cheapest products
You can get some great deals on our most expensive items. However, these items also tend to generate the most competitive auctions.  Fewer bidders bid on cheaper items, meaning that you are much more likely to win.

Protect yourself with Bid-O-Matic
Bid-O-Matic is a powerful tool when using strategic limits. It can scare away the other bidders because they know that the Bid-O-Matic will always place bids to keep you on top. Your chances of winning are increased, and they know it- which may help you intimidate your competition.

Turn your opponents' Bid-O-Matics against each other
Some people set the Bid-O-Matic and forget about it. It is easy to win if your competition has stepped away from the computer with the assumption that their Bid-O-Matic will fully protect them. We’ve noticed that users tend to set the "Bid From" value of their Bid-O-Matic to a round number, so use this to your advantage. Wait for a round number and place a single bid after it on the off-chance that the Bid-O-Matic has reached its limit.

Watch other bidders
View the details of the last ten bids placed and try to figure out:

  1. Who is bidding?
  2. When do they place their bids?

How do you pronounce QuiBids?

This is a much more common question than you'd think. QuiBids is pronounced ('Kwi-Bids), as in Quick Bids.

QuiBids. Say it out loud. "QuiBids." Good. Now go tell your friends about QuiBids and you'll receive free bids if they sign up and purchase a Bid Pack. Just be sure to use the "Refer a Friend" link in the My QuiBids section.

How does the Bid-O-Matic work?

Bid-O-Matic automatically places bids for you in a more efficient way than other auction sites. Bid-O-Matic even lets you bid if you're not logged on to our website! Using Bid-O-Matic guarantees your bid will be placed in the last 20 seconds. You'll never have to worry about losing your Internet connection or getting distracted in the final seconds because Bid-O-Matic will bid as you instruct it to.

Bid-O-Matic's Protocol:

  • Bid-O-Matic will bid whenever the timer drops below 20 seconds, though it's up to the Bid-O-Matic exactly when it will place that bid.
  • Bid-O-Matic can be set up with a minimum of 3 bids and a maximum of 25 bids at a time.
  • Bid-O-Matic will start to bid for you as soon as you click the 'Activate' button, unless there is less than 2 seconds remaining on the auction clock.
  • Bid-O-Matic may be deactivated at any point during the auction. Please keep in mind that the number of deactivations will be limited to minimize server load.
  • If an auction ends, all unused Bid-O-Matic bids will remain in your account.
  • You can only set one Bid-O-Matic at a time per auction.
  • Bid-O-matics cannot be activated on auctions with less than 2 seconds remaining on the auction clock.

How to Use:

  • In the Bid-O-Matic area on the right side of every auction page, simply enter the Bid From price (which is the price you want the Bid-O-Matic to start placing bids at) and the number of bids you're prepared for it to use. Then select 'Activate'.
  • Sit back, relax, and watch your Bid-O-Matic do all the work for you.

What about when two or more Bid-O-Matics are set to bid in the same price range?

  • If there are two or more Bid-O-Matics bidding in the same auction, a bid will be placed sometime in the last 20 seconds just like if there was one Bid-O-Matic bidder. Only one bid from a Bid-O-Matic bidder will be placed at a time.
  • The exact time that Bid-O-Matic bids varies – it can be anywhere between 0 and 20 seconds. It's randomized to prevent other bidders from knowing if a Bid-O-Matic is in play.

*Please note that while the Bid-O-Matic function is offered on many of our auctions, it is not offered on all of them. If you do not see it on the auction page, you might be looking at an auction where Bid-O-Matic is not available.

How much do bids cost?

Each bid costs $0.40, and they are available for purchase in Bid Packs here or through the QBar. QuiBids accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal.

Can everyone be a winner?

Yes! Even if you don't win the auction, you'll never have to walk away with nothing. Any time after you've placed your first bid in an auction, you may choose to buy the product at a discount using the Buy Now feature. You'll never have to pay more than the Value Price for any products on QuiBids. But not everyone will win the auction at a large discount.

Are products brand-new?

All products on QuiBids are brand-new and factory sealed!

Do Real Bids or Voucher Bids come with badges?

Bids earned with badges are always Voucher Bids.

Why does the timer reset in the final seconds when a user bids?

Because it's an auction! QuiBids wants to guarantee each user the chance to participate in our auctions, so we've adopted the timer as means of imitating the 'Going once... going twice... SOLD!' aspect of a traditional auction.

Why does QuiBids cost to participate in an auction?

QuiBids is built on a pay-to-participate business model wherein each bid comes at a cost. Consumers may purchase those bids in bid packs, which can be viewed in the Bid Credit History section. Once a user buys a bid pack, he or she may participate in any auction.

Is QuiBids considered a lottery or gambling?

No. Online gambling is illegal and QuiBids does not partake in this kind of activity. Gambling implies the uncontrollable element of chance, and because every auction on QuiBids is customer-driven, there is no act of randomness.

QuiBids hosts a Buy Now feature on every auction.  This assures that no user, having participated in a particular auction, will ever have to walk away without either winning the auctioned item or purchasing it at the listed price.

QuiBids is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has recently passed an independent third-party audit of our integrity and internal controls. This PDF file explains the audit in full detail.

I just spent bids in an auction and didn't win. Can I retrieve those used bids?

Per the Terms & Conditions, QuiBids does not refund any bids used in auctions. However, QuiBids does refund any unused bids. If a user doesn't win an auction, then we encourage him or her to use the Buy Now feature, and get the item for the value price minus the cost of purchased bids used in that auction.

I set my Bid-O-Matic, but the auction ended. Why didn't my Bid-O-Matic work? Have I lost any bids?

The Bid-O-Matic feature allows you to bid on QuiBids even if you are not logged in or are away from your computer.  First, you must set a starting price for the Bid-O-Matic to engage in bidding for you.  For example, if you were to set your Bid-O-Matic to start at $8 and the auction ends at $6, then the auction would've never exceeded the minimum limit you set. Therefore no bids were placed, so you wouldn't have lost any bids. For more information, check out “How Does Bid-O-Matic Work?

I see some of the same usernames in multiple auctions. Does QuiBids have any bots or shill bidders?

No. QuiBids does not employ any bots or shill bidders. The use of such devices to drive bidding up (or for any other purpose) conflicts with our company policy.

Users can bid in multiple auctions simultaneously, so it's possible to see a username in multiple auctions at once.  However, a user cannot win more than 12 auctions in a single day.

Can I be refunded if I purchase a bid pack but decide not to participate on the site?

Unused bids, when purchased in Bid Packs, are fully refundable. However, once a bid is used in an auction, it's no longer refundable. Please contact Customer Support to request a refund of any unused bids.

What kind of bids do I win with QuiBids Gameplays?

All QuiBids Gameplays earn Voucher Bids.

What is Groundhog Hunting?

One of our favorite QuiBids Games, Groundhog Hunting is similar to the popular Whac-A-Mole arcade games you played as a kid. In this online version though, you smack groundhogs on the noggin by clicking them as quickly as they appear. Each one of the little varmints holds a board signifying how many bids will be awarded or deducted from your total. Green numbers add bids, and red ones deduct.

This Game is timed, beginning with 1:00 on the clock. You can gain more time by hitting groundhogs holding signs with blue clocks. But be sure to watch out for the red clocks, which subtract the amount of time left to play. When time runs out, the bids won during the game will be credited to your account.

What’s the goal of Froggie?

Like QuiBids’ other Games, the point of Froggie is to earn as many points as possible, so you earn more Voucher Bids! You do this by pushing Froggie off the grass so he hops toward his lily pad. Froggie earns additional points by eating bugs along the way, and landing on the obstacles that get him closer to his lily pad.

Can I control Froggie once he hops off the grass?

Nope. Once Froggie’s set loose, he charts his own course. You can only control when he starts hopping. But watch out for the timer — Froggie will go on his own if you just leave him sitting there!
