The MX-450 from Universal Remote Control features a bright 2” color LCD with eye-catching color graphics. It delivers high-tech color, is easy use and simple to set-up. It will control up to 18 components and can “learn” from new equipment so it will never be obsolete. Plus it runs on easy-to-find AA batteries so you don’t have to worry about AC adapters, chargers or replacing expensive Lithium Ion cells.
Not Your Grandfather's Remote Control
Most remote controls use IR (infrared) signals to turn components on and off. The MX-450 can transmit IR, too, but is really in its element when combined with the MRF-260 base station, also from Universal Remote Control, Inc (sold separately). The MX-450 sends invisible RF (radio frequency) signals through walls, doors and floors to the MRF-260 base station. The base station converts the control codes back into the IR language that the AV components understand.
This system has many advantages: you can close the doors on your AV cabinet and control everything from across the room--or even outside from across the yard. Plus, you can connect a sequence of commands into one long string (called a "macro") so that with one button press you can turn on the TV, start the DVD player, activate the surround sound, set the right TV inputs and more--all by simply pressing one button.
Add it all together and you have a wand-style IR/RF stand-alone (non PC-programmable) hard-button remote control with color LCD that is perfect for use in controlling the most sophisticated home theater systems.
On-Screen Programming, No PC or Internet Connection Required
The MX-450 can be installed and configured even if the user does not have a heavy-duty programming background. The MX-450 has a built-in, onscreen guide that allows you to easily automate your AV systems and replace up to 18 existing old-fashioned remotes.
Imagine--one beautiful, colorful remote control instead of that basket full of mismatched, odds-and-ends that you hide when company comes over.
Users will love the On-Screen Macro Editing. If one step in a macro is wrong it can be corrected--it’s not necessary to delete and reprogram it. And it includes a built-in, updatable, pre-programmed database plus standalone Learning. The MX-450 is never obsolete--the famous ProPerfectDatabase™ can be quickly updated by connecting via USB to any Internet-connected PC.
If you enjoy your home theater system but get really annoyed by how difficult it is to make it behave exactly the way you want it to, the MX-450 was made for you.
